I recently finished reading the ebook, Supernova, by Braxton Crosby. This is the 2nd book in the series. Even though I haven't read the first one, I was able to easily figure out who and what each character was.I loved how the author wrote each character. It was easy to realize what each of there rolls were and how each one was dependent on the others. By the end of the first two chapters, I was in love with the story and the characters, especially the undying love of Sydney and William.I can not wait to read the next installment of this series, and I will definitely go back and read the first book just to have a couple of questions answered.This of the YA genre, but was still a really good read.Full Disclosure: I received this product for free or at a discounted price for my honest opinion. what a great book, every characters are really detailed, full of surprises, well written,easy to read and understand, i couldn't stop reading it so i did all in a raw, i was so absorbed by this amazing story,i highly recommend it to anyone and can't wait to read was happened next
Supernova by Braxton A. Cosby is the sequel to Protostar, the first instalment in new sci-fi romance series The Star-Crossed Saga. The story starts where the first book ended and continues to tell us more about the story of Sydney, the star-child, and William, an enemy turned lover.I liked this book even more than the first one as the story came across more clearly and because, obviously, more details on the lead characters as well as the thematic concept of the star-child were revealed. As the story unveils further, we see some old characters and some new taking us through the extraordinarily perilous life of the leading lady, Sydney.The story progressed smoothly and I found myself instantly immersed into the plot right from the start as I was keen to know what happens next. The plot had quite a few twists and turns and they successfully managed to keep me interested in the storyline throughout the book.The writing was good and the plot was well-structured. I liked the character arcs as well and enjoyed the story overall. I also liked where the story ended and I'm really looking forward to reading the next part.I'd recommend this series to all Romantic Sci-Fi lovers. This is one series to look out for.
I can see Braxton's writing style evolving and growing with each new book in this series. I definitely felt like this story flowed even better and it was much easier for me to picture the characters and scenes as they played out. There was a lot of emotional turmoil in this one, with several of the main characters dealing with having to make choices and decisions that could impact not only their lives, but the futures of their planet and people. I had been warned this second book was a tear-jerker and I must say that it did manage to get me when I least expected it! One more book in the series and I'm eager to see how it wraps up.
I acquired this book through another platform.I have to admit, I did not read Braxton A. Cosby's debut Award-winning novel Protosta, the first book. So, when I started reading, I was a bit lost. OK, really lost. But that's my own fault because this is a second book in a series. I will probably go back now and read the first book just to fill in the pieces. This book picks up right where the other one left off.This is a story of two star-crossed lovers. William and Sydney are the main characters and their relation develops further in this second book. The book is slow to start, drawing you into the character's personal lives. About halfway through is when the storyline truly became engaging.Don't be fooled, this is a Sci-fi book. War is being waged across the galaxy, and it's a thrilling adventure. As the plot progressed, it became easier to read. Oh, did I not mention that William comes from a different planet? It took me a while to learn this not having read book one. ;-)I like the premise of the book, and as I said, will probably go back & read book one just so that I can get the full effect of the series so far. Cosby has a way of drawing you into the characters quickly. Although I did find it hard to follow some of the dialogue. It seemed choppy, and like I was missing whole parts of conversations. It did not flow naturally. But it didn't keep me from reading it.I received this product free or at a discount in exchange for a fair & honest review.
Braxton Cosby has kept the action and thrill of this book at a thrilling pace. The story continues where it left off. William had made the decision to love and protect Sydney instead of killing her. Sydney learned Noella her best friend had also been a bounty hunter, sent to kill her. Now they have all bonded together. To round out the group, the onboard system known as IMPI has agreed to also help. As he evolves, learning more and more human characteristics Sydney gives him the human name "Bill". William is sure his father has sent a fleet to take them all out. What William was unaware of, was that his father and his kingdom was under attack. There are evil plots all around them. Another team has been sent to earth to get rid of all of them. One of them is William's best friend. When he disposes of the other two, will he be able to convince his friend Arrion to join him? Sydey's godfather Henry and his girlfriend, astronomer Jasmine have been brought in to the situation. You would think with all of this protection that things would be going smoothly. Sydney, who has never had an illness or sickness in her life suffers a broken bone. Then there are the mood swings. What is happening to her and will whatever it be, end up killing her? There is enough suspense within these pages to keep you turning non-stop. Can't wait to read the next one.I received a copy to facilitate my review the opinions expressed here are my own.
