The hardcover version which I received has a handy cloth bookmark built in.As far as religious texts go, this is probably the most entertaining gospel I have ever read. The book clearly defines the religious practices and beliefs of the followers of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, along with contrasts to other currently popular religions. Many current debates that have our society separating church and state are discussed in clear and logical ways to bring the reader to the conclusion that the Flying Spaghetti Monster is a loving and caring deity who wants humans to be happy and live fulfilling lives.Some things I learned from this book:1. Gravity is actually the result of the FSM (Flying Spaghetti Monster)'s invisible noodly appendages lovingly holding everything down on Earth where we are safe.2. Heaven awaits the faithful with beer volcanoes and a stripper factory.3. Ramendon, Pastover, Holiday (a.k.a. December), and every Friday are religious holidays that should be celebrated by consuming carbs and intoxicating beverages.
Very good book, makes a lot of sense as well. Except there is one issue. You don't get the red book in the picture. you get a book with a picture of the red book on the cover. Didn't stop me from reading it

After reading the bible multiple times in my youth I had no choice but to become an atheist. I thought I was done with "divine" creation, wonton bloodlust, irreconcilable moral quandaries, and the valuation of women in terms of livestock. But then comes the FSM and I can already feel the damp touch of his divine, noodly appendage guiding me back to spiritually. I like the fact that this religion promotes equality among all people and genders and, let's be honest... beer volcano. 'Nuff said.
This is a book, with a picture of this red book on the cover. Complete crap and not worth giving as a gift as I planned.
I was looking for an alternate "religion" where I can feel accepted and preach about love. Finding the Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM) was the best thing it happened to me. Not only I trust in the "Intelligent Design" but also I do believes that our ancestors, the Pirates, are our only option to salvation. Also its Heaven is so far better than any other. So if you are looking for a "All-Inclusive Religion" this one is the perfect for you.
My only issue, Is that it's not the red book like the picture. It's a white paperback with the picture of the red book on the front.Other than that, I love it. Pastafaterian publishing!I'm already loving it.
