The Theological Dictionary of the New Testament, which I have owned for 35 years, is the best tool I have for serious study of the NT. I know of no other reference work that is so complete. There is an entry for every word used in the Greek NT. In addition to discussing the meanings of the words as used in the NT, entries discuss their use in the Septuagint, Josephus, Philo, the Church Fathers, the Gnostics, and even Greek philosophy. Volume 5 consists of entries for words starting with Xsi through Pi Alpha. (Words that begin with Pi Epsilon can be found in Volume 6.)A final word. If you are planning on procuring your TDNT one volume at a time, you should make the purchase of Volume 10 one of your priorities. This volume consists of several indexes, including all NT Greek words (and where they are discussed in the various volumes), Hebrew and Aramaic words, and other helpful lists.
Over the past three decades I've put my copy of the TDNT to use far more than any of my other NT Greek reference works. This is far and away the best work for the serious student of the Greek NT. Every Greek word found in the NT has an entry. Typically these entries are quite extensive and not only discuss the meaning or meanings of the word in the NT itself, but also its use in the LXX, as well as in Josephus, Philo, the Church Fathers, the Gnostics, and the like.
