When I finally broke down and bought an I-Phone I was shocked and dismayed to find out it didn't come withany kind of instructions what-so-ever!! I was completely lost and felt gipped at Apple for not including ANYinstructions!! This book helped me navigate through all of the ways my I-Phone can be of use to me, and how to set different things up. It is easy for us seniors, and for anyone who would like to find out more about their phone.
This is okay but for a staunch newbie, not your book. As some others have said, it uses terms you'd better be familiar with to completely understand how to do things. In some places it's very clear and in others, it leaves me wanting. It also doesn't answer all the basic questions I have about iPhones. This is my first iPhone and I have had to go online and also talk to friends and family about some of the stuff I can't find in this book. I am still glad I bought it and will probably use it from time to time. In defense of this book, I have had other books for my computer (Dummy books and Missing Manual books) that leave me wanting also. I guess they can't think of everything someone might ask, but I think a survey of newbies would give them a better idea of what needs to be included. A beginner book should assume the user of the book knows nothing about the subject. If it's too simplistic for some, they shouldn't be buying a beginning book in the first place.
Excellent, clear instructions, easy to follow. As I am not brilliant at all things technical I really expected that I would find following all the instructions quite hard. So pleased to find I could manage everything I set out to do, thanks to this book.
It is a very useful book for someone that never used a iPhone before. I probably had my iPhone a couple of years now and I still look up new things I can do on my phone. I like it because there are pictures that are numbered and you follow the numbers/steps. I am very visual and would not get help from a book with NO Pictures. This is well worth the cost and a good reference tool.
Wow, when you said good condition you really meant it!!!! Thank you. It Only had 2 corners of front cover just a little worn!!! Thank you from me and my mom 83 who is reading every page from front to back. She loves it! I gave her my Apple as her 1 st Apple phone and she is hooked!
This book is just what you need to learn how use the I-phone. Colored illustrations with number steps referenced for each operation. Best way to learn (* beats those 'for dummies" books hands down. ) My wife has never used a smartphone. Now rather than struggling trying show her how to do certain functions, she just uses the index and follows instructions and learns herself. Very satisfied.. Even ordered one for the Galaxy S5 for a friend of mine.
Could not have managed to get all I put onto my iPhone without this guide! I have loaned it to a friend while I travel for a few weeks, but will certainly ask for it back to read for further ideas to make the most out of my phone.
I am surprised by the quality and thoroughness of this book! I, firmly believe that a manual made by Apple would not be as good as this one, if Apple made one! And, as you know, Apple isn't making owners manuals under the guise of saving trees, they told me. It is the same excuse that Samsung gave me for not providing Owners Manuals for my Galaxy "S" Tablet computer!
