great book all about family and overcoming
Sandra Becker wrote Amish Thanksgiving but it is a must deeper story then like the one that I wrote a review on earlier. This story is what Thanksgiving is all about wanting to give a truly meaning to others about what the day is really about an in her words of her story you can really feel what you should be doing and feeling on this day. A son felt bad because he wasn't able to really afford to get a turkey fit for his very large family, but he did the best he could an the best part of this day he was able to help a friend who some day he hoped to have for his wife. Reading this story will make you really feel what the day means, so please take it slow an read an take into your heart what the words are telling you. Please let the author know how much her words meant to you and your heart is filled with joy an God being right there for you an everyone you know. Please make a review an let others also know how this story filled your heart. tell you friends about this book also. Letting the author know will really make her feel like her work in doing this story really has a lot of meaning, they need to know that we really care about their stories an what they do for us.
You should know that I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to review.Amish Thanksgiving was a short story that tugged at my heartstrings. I didn't realize it was such a short story when I first started it and then I thought that it couldn't amount to much, as short as it was. I was wrong!!! It tells a story of heartbreak and forgiveness. Thankfulness and God's guidance through bad times in life. There are questions that were left hanging and I wasn't happy about that but perhaps a later version will clear those up. I would recommend the book to all.
Josiah helps Heather overcome the hatred she feels over all. She blames all Englishers for the death of her brother. This is a short book and for that reason, I have it only 3 stars.
Interesting book, as I began with the first few pages, I thought "this will be too short to be much". Oh my was I wrong. She took this story and ran with it! Such a short soul searching reminder was a wonderful read. I promise you won't be disappointed!
I did not care for this book. I had to keep back tracking to remember what I had read. It doesn't have the feel of a true Amish Book. Did Josiah ever go back and pay for the turkey?
